Staff - Mike Chatelle

Mike Chatelle (Facilities Coordinator) a native son of San Antonio, TX acquired a degree in Landscape Architecture from Texas A&M University in 1986. He entered the work force with Shades of Green nursery utilizing his design skills while eventually acquiring skills and desires that led him into nursery management. In 1992, he left the retail world for a career in sales and marketing with a local wholesale plant grower. In 1999, along with the arrival of the second child in the family, Mike was faced with the decision to accept a new sales territory requiring extensive travel. He decided to quit his job to become a stay at home dad, and even though this was more difficult than any paid job Mike had ever had, he was very thankful and greatly rewarded by the opportunity to grow closer to God and his family during that 7 year stretch.  After attending a spring semester with the Texas A&M 'Italart' program in Italy, Mike stayed to work in Florence, where he met his wife, Kaye. Mike and Kaye have been married for 17 years, and they enjoy spending time outdoors working in the garden and camping with their two children, Miriam and Jack who attend Fair Oaks Elementary School.  Mike loves to spend time doing anything outdoors, spending time working on projects with family and friends, he loves to draw and paint and hopes to someday return to playing his trumpet.
