Local Outreach

Serving people throughout our community is an excellent way to share the love of Christ with others, and Cibolo Creek is here to help facilitate that service. Our Local Outreach Team exists to identify and promote opportunities to serve our community, then to coordinate and mobilize our church family to lend a helping hand in the name of Christ. Be on the lookout for upcoming service opportunities listed below and join in the joy which results from loving your neighbor.

FEATURED OPPORTUNITIES

SLEEP IN HEAVENLY PEACE

Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) is an organization committed to seeing that no children sleep on the floor in our community. SHP says it best: “All children deserve a safe, comfortable place to lay their heads. Across the US, too many boys and girls go without a bed—or even a pillow—to sleep on and end up sleeping on couches, blankets, and even floors. This can affect their happiness and health.” Cibolo Creek partners with SHP multiple times a year to help fund, build and deliver beds to kids who have none.

SERVING SUNDAY

One of our favorite expressions of worship at Cibolo Creek is serving and one of our favorite annual events is Serving Sunday. Every Spring, Cibolo Creek takes church outside the walls of our building and into our community by serving our neighbors together! Church attenders sign up for a project that might include construction, building, packing, painting, sorting, gardening and more. Then, instead of meeting for our regular worship services, we all head out to our projects for the morning. Serving Sunday is a great way to serve alongside your family, life group, ministry team and friends!

LOVE BOERNE SCHOOLS

Every July, Cibolo Creek Partners with BISD nurses, nurses from Hill Country Pregnancy Care Center, Hill Country Daily Bread and Sam’s Kids to share the love of Jesus with our Boerne Schools and kids in need. This includes a collection of shoes, school supplies and nurse supplies. Each week, our church attenders bring supplies to fill up a bin in their seating section and compete for the esteemed title of “Section Champion”.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY

Habitat for Humanity works together with families, local communities, volunteers and partners from around the world so that more people are able to live in affordable and safe homes. Habitats advocacy efforts focus on policy reform to remove systemic barriers preventing low-income and historically underserved families from accessing adequate, affordable shelter. Cibolo Creek partners with Habitat every year by sending a group of volunteers to help complete home builds in San Antonio.

BABY BOTTLE BOOMERANG

Every year, Cibolo Creek serves the Hill Country Pregnancy Care Center (HCPCC) by participating in their Baby Bottle Boomerang initiative. During this event, church attenders raise funds by filling baby bottles with loose change in an effort to save babies lives! The HCPCC is a non-profit organization serving families in the Texas Hill Country since 1987 and exists to promote the value of life and empower individuals to make healthy choices regarding pregnancy and sexuality, and to extend the healing presence and love of Jesus Christ.
